MEMBERS OF EMCC BOARD OF TRUSTEES HONORED FOR YEARS OF SERVICE AT MACCT CONFERENCE

EMCC Board of Trustees members Ed Mosley, Evelyn Murray, Linda Jackson and Bubba Davis were honored for their years of service during the 2025 Mississippi Association of Community College Trustees Conference in Biloxi that took place June 9-11. Also in attendance at the conference were EMCC President Dr. Scott Alsobrooks, other EMCC Board of Trustees members, as well as members of EMCC鈥檚 Administrative Cabinet.

Biloxi's Beau Rivage Resort and Casino was inundated with community college trustees and administration from across the state of Mississippi from June 9 through June 11 for the 2025 Mississippi Association of Community College Trustees Conference (MACCT).EMCC Board of Trustees members Ed Mosley, at left, and Evelyn Murray were honored for their years of service as a trustee during the 2025 Mississippi Association of Community College Trustees Conference. Mosley has served 35 years and Murray has served five years. Also honored were EMCC Board of Trustees members Linda Jackson (35 years) and Bubba Davis (five years), who are not pictured.

The theme for the annual conference was 鈥淎nchored in Excellence.鈥 The evening started with "Anchors and Echoes: The Music and Arts of Mississippi: A Celebration of Creative Legacy and Cultural Impact.鈥 A celebration of graduates from the nation's oldest community college system showcased a glimpse into the enduring legacy and influence of a system that has served communities for over a century.

The years of service awards for Boards of Trustees were included in the program with EMCC鈥檚 very own Ed Mosley, 35 years (pictured ), Evelyn Murray, five years (pictured), Linda Jackson, 35 years (not pictured) and Mr. Bubba Davis, five years (not pictured). 

Also in attendance at the conference were EMCC President Dr. Scott Alsobrooks, other EMCC Board of Trustees members, as well as members of EMCC鈥檚 Administrative Cabinet.

From federal policies and regulations to insights and discussions for leaders and decision-makers, the conference was filled with thought-provoking dialogue for administrators and trustees to continue the conversation into the upcoming year. 

The speakers included: 

  • Aaron Lacey, Partner, Thompson Coburn LLP, and Higher Education Practice Group Co-Chair. 
  • David Garner, Board Chairman, Jones College
  • Robert C. Robbins, Hoover Institute Distinguished Visiting Fellow
  • Jonathan Barlow, Director, Early Honors Academy, Honors Instructor, Associate Director of Data Science, and Data Science Assistant, Teaching Professor, Mississippi State University 
  • Michael Trest, Dean of Online Workforce College, Jones College.
